FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q) How far is it to the beach?
A) From Napoleon's driveway turn left and follow Ridley Street as it curves round to the right, across Hilltop Street to Dana Ave. Turn left into Dana Ave and 2 minutes further down on the left is the turn off to Ritchie's Track. Follow the track through the dunes and emerge at Pirates Bay in the Mornington Peninsula National Park (on the Bass Strait side of the Mornington Peninsula), about 4-5 minutes.
Q) Can we swim there?
A) We recommend only one place to swim in our section of the Mornington Peninsula National Park. There is a beautiful low tide lagoon at Bridgewater Bay, which is about 9 - 12 minutes walk from Napoleon's Retreat. There is a fantastic jumping rock at the Bridewater Bay lagoon. Not for the faint hearted!
Q) Can we have guests over for a BBQ?
A) Of course, your guests are welcome. However, they must be off the property by 10pm and their vehicles must not occupy the driveway or carport. Any damage, excessive noise or other problems that may arise because of the presence of your guests is the responsibility of the registered Napoleon's Retreat guest.
Q) How far is the front beach?
A) Blairgowrie front beach (Port Phillip Bay side of the Mornington Peninsula is about 2 kms, so it's 2 or 3 minutes in the car. The beaches any where along this stretch are excellent for safe swimming etc.
Q) Where are the nearest shops?
A) Blairgowrie shopping strip is on Pt. Nepean Road, on the Port Phillip Bay side, about 1.2 kms down St John's Wood Road. There is a supermarket, bottle shop, butcher, chemist, newsagent, green grocer and post office as well as some great eateries.
